Asian Festival Of Speed. SEPANG F1 CIRCUIT
Not quite the Goodwood Festival Of Speed but good racing entertainment all the same and where else in the world can you get to go to the Hottest F1 Circuit in the World and watch Lamborghinis race Porsches and Ferraris for free!
Malaysia is pretty amazing like that…there’s plenty going on but you have to dig around to find it! Must say, I loved the sound of the Gallardo’s roaring down the back straight of Sepang! Judging by the main picture above, you could be forgiven for thinking that no one showed up! But actually, most people were in the Pits before the event kicked off.
Sepang is a fantastic Circuit that suits cars and bikes. Two long straights wrap around a hair pin turn that is sheltered by the landmark Sepang Umbrella! On the grounds are also a 4wd track, moto-X venue as well as a Go Cart Circuit – so its got just about everything. Its next to Kuala Lumpur International Airport which is about 40 minutes drive south of the capital.
The next big event at Sepang will be the Super GT Series (formerly known as the Japan GT Series) June 19 – 21. That will have a great showing of nice cras from Aston Martins – Lamborghinis. Go watch all shapes of exotica be thrashed around the Circuit… a good day out!
The Asian Festival Of Speed seemed to be the act of a bunch of guys from teh Hong Kong Supercar Club – those guys are ACTIVE and it’s good to see them enjoying their racing!
